Bead Peeps Swap and Hop! Reveal!

Just a reminder of what my New Friend Karen Mitchell sent me!  I was so excited about the beads and all that I started using them...forgetting that I was supposed to make pretties for the swap and hop!!! LOL So all of the mookite beads and the larger rose quartz are gone too!  I do however have the focals together and I made 3 pieces.
With the lovely bracelet bar, [Karen gave me the names of the artists and I lost the paper...blah!!!] but I made a bracelet with with the bracelet [imagine that...LOL].  I used a leather bracelet and added a Cherish saying tag, and a cool bronzy key and some of the artisan beads as well as charms. i chose gold colored metal to make the colors pop and then I used Bronzy metal as well.

I used the clay focal, It reminds of the amazing soustache designs I have seen.  They are so intricate and beautiful.  this focals is intricate and really beautiful!  I made it into a choker so it would lay right in the hollow of your throat. I tried a bunch of different beads to go with the focal and simply did not like any of them  then I tried some assorted czech glass and regular glass beads...success!!!  this is not my usual design but when the focal is so amazing adding a lot to the necklace can detract from the focal.  So simple was the name of this game.
And my last design for this swap and hop is using the Kari Asbury focal.  I know who made this one because I have been fortunate enough to be able to work with her designs before.
I did not go quite as simple with this one but still not my usual design.  I love the colors in the focal so I tried to pick those up in the necklace.  I added a few little charms and some color and called it .good.

  1. As usual, your work is great! I love the leather bracelet, and I love the necklace, it looks so Victorian to me! And the choker is really, really pretty, and yes, it does look like soutache and you are right that it doesn't need anything else. It is gorgeous how you finished it!

  22. All your creations are beautiful! The colors have a soft glow, I love the dangles in the necklace with the bird pendant and how the focal draws the attention in the choker. I think the bracelet is my favorite, though - such a clever use of the piece of leather!

  24. Hi Robin, kudos to you for doing pieces that were out of your usual style. The colors that you chose for the first necklace match the focal perfectly. The black leather really makes the bracelet bar pop. Great design. You are right the lovely clay focal was meant to be the star in a simple necklace. It is beautiful. I like all three of your designs.
